2018-2019 Rotary Theme

Six Weeks In

It has been a fabulous start to President Rohanthe new year and I would like to thank all members for the contributions. We have had many outstanding contributions and I do not want to single out any particular members but Foundation Director John Gillett has been running both Foundation and Youth in the absence of Malcolm. I am sure John enjoys it but it has been a big load with not one but three teams being organised for MUNA, the successful application, interview and acceptance of Marymajella Dubbelaar to the (National Youth Science Forum) NYSF. This along with applications for Seimens and keeping a watchful eye on the early progress of our inbound exchange student Hedvig has kept John very busy.

Hedvig arrived 16th July and this young lady has quickly settled into life in Moruya. She has attend all Moruya meetings so far along with a night at Batemans Bay to hear Karoline, the Bays inbound student from Denmark make her first Club presentation. Hedvig has also been part of our first catering commitment of the year.

We have had a good mix and match of guest speakers thanks to Derek and headed by team member John Marsden.

The Club Survey this year has been a big bonus and the results, in summary, show some interesting trends. These results will be presented at the board meeting this month and will filter down to the Club thereafter.

Media contributions are seen by many members as vital to the development of the Club. It is a big job to report on all the various areas that the Club is involved with takes quite some time and all contributions are appreciated. We now have regular spots in Moruya Voice, Bay Post / Examiner and Rotary features 3 times daily in the community segments of 2EC / Power FM and keeping these features regular and up to date will be something that will take time each week.
